Did you know the first Stampede breakfast was served from a chuck-wagon in downtown Calgary in 1925?
Whether you like pancakes or not, it is inevitable that you will encounter a Stampede breakfast during the Stampede week. That irresistible fresh smell of pancakes urges you to join the long line-up. While pouring some golden brown syrup to garnish or enhance the flavour, you couldn’t wait to dig into the deliciousness. While devouring your meal, you could also enjoy some fantastic live country music. There is usually other free entertainment offered such as pony rides, a petting zoo, trip roping, face painting, etc.
Also, Stampede breakfasts don’t always have to be an eating-related activity. You could volunteer and help out at your own community breakfast. It is a great opportunity to get to know some of your neighbours and to meet new people.
