Books are better than movies: the Twilight Saga

The Twilight Saga
The Twilight Saga

Yeah, yeah, it’s a bit overkill now, but before the fame and Robert Pattinson, the Twilight Saga was actually really good! Personally, I loved the books, but the movie ruined it for me. I have yet to see New Moon, so today, I will be talking about the pros of the books. As I promised Kaiz, no rambling. So, I thought I’d put everything in point form:

  • Sparkly vampires. Right there, that’s pretty awesome.
  • The history of each and every character just amazes me. I love how you can track each character back pretty much to their birth.
  • Edward and Bella’s love is unstoppable. Their “opposites attract” relationship is what keeps them going.
  • Edward will go to no limitations to protect Bella.
  • Jacob (Bella’s best friend) is just so sweet—he’s the perfect BFF.
  • The drama of the love triangle.
  • The bad vamps.
  • The Volturi (vampire royalty set in Volterra, Italy) and their background. Just wow.
  • The way all of the characters and bad guys interrelate to each of their pasts.
  • The battle of the world of Team Edward, Team Jacob and Team Switzerland. (Personally, I’m Team Edward… I even have the shirt…)
  • Stephenie Meyer makes it so that you can sympathize with pretty much either team: Edward is an attractive, strong, sparkling vampire who is a total romantic gentleman; Jacob is the perfect best friend, he cares so much about Bella and only wants the best for her; and Switzerland… well I guess you can like both… there’s enough supporting evidence. It is hard not to love both.
  • The way the stories are written. I don’t know what Meyer did, but you just cannot put down the books. They leave you wanting more, and even though the ending of the saga is very good, you can’t help but be sad they’re over.
  • The happy ending :D.

And there you have it: the to-the-point pros of the Twilight Saga.

Look for the cons of The Twilight Saga, soon to come from Shazia!
