The final leg of the basketball season for all high schools in Calgary wrapped up last week. If you hadn’t guessed, I play Junior Varsity ball at Western Canada, so I’ll give you a quick summation of how it went down in the Division I playoffs. (: So basically, all teams are eligible for a seeding round that qualifies you for a certain division. Western played Scarlett that night, and eventually closed the win at 72 – 68. We were down 18 – 0 in the first quarter though. I don’t even know how that happened.

Starting on Monday night last week were the quarter finals for all teams that qualified for Division I. We played Bishop McNally, a team we had already lost to twice. It was 31 – 30 for Bishop McNally at the half, but they took a quick 11 – 0 run in the third quarter and shut us down 94 – 52. And that was it for my season. ):

But anyways. Going into semi finals on Wednesday were two match ups: McNally / O’Byrne = 107 – 70 McNally St. Mary’s / Grandin = 75 – 55 Mary’s and the 2012 Final was held at Bishop Carroll on Friday night, pitting the St. Mary’s Saints against the Bishop McNally Timberwolves. After an extremely hard-fought game from both teams, Mary’s eventually sneaked the win, narrowly emerging victorious at 83 – 79.
