Welcome to the third part in my series about the Beatles!

1963 is The Beatles’ annus mirabilis. 1963 is year of touring.  1963 is Beatlemania!

It all started with their second single, Please Please Me, which was an instant smash and hitting top of the charts.  Soon after, The Beatles recorded their debut album which is also named Please Please Me.  This album was an instant success, hitting top of the official UK album charts and remained for another thirty weeks.  In November of 1963, The Beatles released their second album, With the Beatles.  This album replaced Please Please Me in the top charts and stayed for another twenty one weeks.

Following The Beatles’ success with the single, Please Please Me, they found themselves in high demand throughout UK.  Over the next year, most of their time was spent on four nationwide tours.  The little time that remained was split between press interviews, TV shows and recording sessions.  Magazines, newspapers, posters were all about them.  The “drop-T” logo was also first introduced 1963.  During The Beatles’ nationwide tours, The Beatles were also the first UK band that topped an American act at a UK concert.  The UK was crazy about The Beatles!

In October of 1963, The Beatles released the single I Want to Hold Your Hand which became the Beatles’ best-selling single worldwide, paving the way for British Invasion of the United States!
