This summer I volunteered at the Calgary Chinese Community Service Association and we painted murals to go up around the community with the help of many of the children from summer camp. After two months of hard work the murals were finally put up late last month. The aim of these murals is both to reflect the history and culture of the Calgary Chinatown community as well as a prevention for graffiti. Here are some pictures of the murals!

A picture of a lion made out of tiles with an painted background
A mural originally painted in soy sauce and blown up.
A train track with made out of wooden boards with the words courage and pictures of labourers at the top and genuine CPR train parts

If you ever stroll through China town be sure to keep your eyes out for these!
