This is not a ‘spelling bee’ or a ‘spell-a-thon’. No, this is The Wordfest! One of Canada’s largest international literary festival and it is happening in Banff, Calgary and the Bow Valley area. Running from October 13th -18th, you can enjoy a wide variety of events from interviews, book signings, readings, panel discussions and so much more!
There is something for everyone, children and adults alike, at this festival. The younger youth can enjoy a reading with Don Calame and Arthur Slade and follow a teenage boy and his antics on a fantastic adventure of shape shifting agents.
The older youth can listen to the amazing and courageous journey of Mariatu Kamara about the Sierra Leone civil war. If you are a passionate writer, you may also be interested in some tips from an award winning novelist J.R Carpenter!
