Being Chinese in heritage, it was only natural that I watch the the annual CCTV New Year’s Gala with my family come Chinese New Year. In a nutshell, the New Year’s Gala is a ginormous compilation of Chinese art, dance, acrobatics, song, and comedy (with the occasional foreign act – this year there was a…
Where has the traditional value of holidays gone? Is Christmas just a day where you receive gifts, a day that precedes another day you can buy more gifts for cheaper? Is Halloween just a day where girls can dress up as hairless bunnies? And is Valentine’s Day just a day forcing boyfriends to do something romantic for their girlfriends?
Heart-shaped pizza. It exists. It is just as delicious as any other shaped pizza. But somehow…it’s just so much more romantic. And with all this filthy “love” in the air, one can’t help but wish for silly romantic things such as a heart-shaped pizza.
I don’t know about you guys, but personally, I’m really weary of clichéd must-read-before-you-die promotional book lists. Usually, the novels suggested on those types of lists would end up following one of those lame, unoriginal plots (and they lived happily ever after), or it would end up being one of those implausible romance stories where the…
If anything could make Stephen Harper seem warm and fuzzy, it’s a pair of baby panda bears. Embarking on a five-day voyage to China, Canada’s conservative main man sealed a deal with “panda diplomacy,” a term used in a Globe and Mail article. I don’t want to try to sound like every other cynical person, but for me I find these man-made holidays to be kind of unnecessary. Like most holidays, they start out as humble, well-deserved holidays. But since capitalism has kicked in, corporations have jumped on these holidays like jack rabbits; making up excuses to waste paper, plastic and our money to try to throw to other people. Oh, and creating really lame and clichéd movies that are not worth $10.
Edvard Grieg was a brilliant Norwegian composer and pianist, recognized most famously for his Piano Concerto in A Minor.
Just a little fun capture of a heart while I was playing around with taking abstract photos. Keep in mind that I’m thinking of all my readers this Feb 14! Remember, love isn’t just a feeling shared with a spouse or boyfriend/girlfriend. Honest love for parents, siblings and friends are one the purest forms of…
The band OK Go is known for their extremely innovative music videos; some of these including “Here It Goes Again” using treadmills and “This Too Shall Pass,” which actually has two music videos, one using a very impressive Rube Goldberg device and the other using a marching band. Their newest video, “Needing/Getting,” was released on…

So the other day, MJ (another blogger) asked me if I would do a baking tutorial on making brownies. And since Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, I figured that brownies are somewhat appropriate for the occasion. You see, in my humble opinion, brownies are the single most sinful and enticing desserts ever created.…
There’s been a story circling on the internet, but it hasn’t really gotten enough attention to become a full-blown news story. I heard about it through YouTube from this video
