I like to do a lot of DIYs to keep  me busy over the summer, and when I got to give my bedroom a complete makeover this year, I knew I had to get creative in order to stay within a reasonable budget. Here are two different easy and affordable DIYs you can do to give your room a little more style.

1. Bric à brac:

All you need for this project is some acrylic spray paint and some ceramic or porcelain figurines. I went out to my local Goodwill and got four cheesy figurines for only $15! I spray painted them all the same solid firetruck red color and let it dry over night. (Depending on the original colour of your figurines, you may need two coats of paint.)

2. Frame It!:

For this one, you’ll need some acrylic paint, brushes and an assortment of picture frames. I got six fancy balsam wood frames from Micheal’s for around $30! You could also just get wooden or ceramic picture frames at a secondhand store as well, and just take out the pane. Then simply paint the frames all the same colour and hang them on your wall without any pictures in them. It gives you an interesting art piece for your wall that doesn’t take much effort to make!
